Professor Paul J. Hartman Memorial State and
Local Tax Forum, sponsored in conjunction with the Vanderbilt University Law School, provides industry, practitioners and state revenue employees the opportunity to participate in a quality forum exploring significant national developments and trends in state and local taxation. The Forum features speakers with the knowledge, expertise, and communication skills to impart current developments as well as the practical solutions and planning opportunities in structuring and reporting state and local tax transactions. The Forum welcomes your participation.

HOTEL INFORMATION
Loews Vanderbilt Hotel is
holding a limited number of rooms for registrants on a first-come basis at a
group rate of $210.00 single/double. The Forum does not make hotel reservations
for registrants. If you wish to stay at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, make your
reservations directly with the hotel by calling 615-320-1700, Extension 1420,
or writing Reservations, Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, 2100 West End Avenue,
Nashville, TN 37203, prior to August 24, 2009. Be sure to inform the
Hotel that you are a registrant for the Paul J. Hartman Tax Forum and are eligible
for the accommodations provided for Forum registrants. It may be possible to
make reservations at the hotel after the stated date; however, late registrations
will not qualify under the Forum's group rate.
Hotel Parking: Self Park: $10.00
per day maximum; Valet Parking: $12.00 per day maximum. Day Guests should come by the Forum's
registration desk to pick up vouchers for the reduced parking rate. Parking is complimentary for the Forum´s Overnight Guests. The Hotel Front Desk will be aware of this.

In order to reduce the amount of paper used at the Forum, attendees at the September 2009 16th Annual Paul J. Hartman SALT Forum will receive a CD containing all program materials as well as a small notebook containing only powerpoint presentations, speaker bios, and forms to be completed relative to the Forum.
In addition, program materials, powerpoints/outlines, will be available to all registered attendees by returning to the Forum´s website on the dates set out below and clicking on "Program Materials" in the menu to your left. These materials will be accessible before, during and for a short period after the Forum. Materials will be added as they are received from the speakers beginning September 1, 2009, with a cutoff date of September 15, 2009. Materials received after that date will be provided in hard copy at the Forum and added to the website after the Forum. If you would like to print out or review these materials prior to the Forum, please e-mail AdmAsst@hartmansaltforum.org to obtain the necessary ID and passcode.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
The Forum meets the requirements of many organizations for continuing legal education and continuing professional education credit. Estimated continuing education credit hours:-Wednesday Sessions (Economic Downturn and Sales and Use Taxes)-Each session provides up to 5.40 credit hours (5.00 hours calculated according to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors Requirements) based on a 50-minute hour; and 4.50 credit hours based on a 60-minute hour. –Thursday/Friday SALT Forum Sessions-This session provides up to 17.60 credit hours (17.50 hours calculated according to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors Requirements) based on a 50-minute hour; and 14.67 credit hours based on a 60-minute hour. Subject to approval by the controlling State Board(s), the Thursday session will provide 1.2 Ethics hours (1.0 Ethics hour calculated according to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors Requirements) based on a 50-minute hour, and 1.0 Ethics hour based on a 60-minute hour. These Ethics hours are included in the total hours provided.
The Program is Group-Live Delivery and is on an Advanced Level. While there are no prerequisites nor is advanced preparation required, it is recommended that the attendee be experienced in a tax practice which includes state and local taxation and would benefit from knowledge of significant national developments and trends in that area.
The Professor Paul J. Hartman Memorial State and Local Tax Forum is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State Boards of Accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
